Played Father's Day and would have bankrupted my son and son-in-law if I had collected. Then proceeded to play Monday and came apart. Minor errors combined with unwatered fairways and slow play had me unglued. I guess your Flightscope was quite accurate regarding the shaft on my Cleveland driver. On the 12th hole, after launching a very nice drive, the shaft broke on impact, and I could not hit a shot for the rest of the day.
Anyhow, here is the swing before that round.
Impressive Improvements on these swings.... Headed in the right direction

Things are going reasonably well. Driver(s) have really improved, wedge game better, and putting is slowly coming around. My major hurdle is the iron game, very inconsistent.
One thing I notice is that my hands are barely ahead of the ball at impact. Weather permitting I was going to try the ball toss drill and karate chop drill (Vol 3) and see if they provide what I am looknig for. Any other suggestions?
The ball, for a 7i, is positioned too far forwards in your stance at set up - almost under your left arm pit, where a lot of guys would play their driver from.
Try replicating that set up position and then move the ball to the immediate rear of the club head; then play it from there and see how you go.

OK, got the irons and wedge game going and now the damn driver decides to desert me. Played yesterday in my competitive league and while I did shoot a 74 (70.8 rating) it was only because I had five birds from stiffed short irons and wedges as well as solid putting (thanks Mike and Burner) and hit a couple of world class recovery shots. Heel, toe, push, pull, you name it I did it.
Normally, I am afraid of mid-irons, but can at least get a drive somewhere out there 260+. I know it is hard to diagnose absent video, but the only thing that occurred to me was the possibility of reverting to a too high shoulder turn, which might be acceptable with a shorter club, but is trouble at 45". Any thoughts?
There is some Driver footage earlier in this thread.
Looking at that, your down swing - 15 seconds to 19 seconds - and contrasting it with your back swing - the first 08 seconds - is very illuminating.
If you can align your back swing - which is far too flat and dragged back in behind you, from my perspective - closer to your down swing then greater consistency and better results might be forthcoming.
It might help to break your tendency to drag the club back in and behind you, if you place your golf bag, upright, about one yard to the right of you with the back of the bag in line with your heels.
Best done in slo-mo till you get used to it.![]()
