    MJ,

Whats the keys to become a better ball striker/ iron player? Drove it great all week in a 4 day event miss the cut by 1.

In play center of the fairway couldn't hit one solid iron shot all week drove the ball like a scratch player turned low 70's in to 80 with iron play that was less than sharp. First 2 days putted just OK but nothing was close so the putting looked super average. Today cut day hit 4 solid irond shots thats it and didnt put that good either. So how can I work on my iron game.... On the range with irons this week looked like I was all world but got on the course tight lie's I didnt hit them the same,....

    MJ,
What to do? Yesterday was the first day that golf wasnt fun.... When you are stinking it up when guys are from all over the world in a world wide event that you had to qualify for and you shot 80, 77, 73... and miss the cut. Guys where out they shot even par one under 3 under... How do you compete when you dont hit irons from the middle of the fairway and hit hooks with the 3 wood ? To many penalty shots.....

    RA,

Definitely sounds like there are some inefficiencies in your pattern and it gets exposed in the 'heat of battle'

It has been a while so let's take a look... can you post up some more video so I can take a look

Down the line views with camera on the ball line... face on belly view making sure the camera is at a right angle to the swing direction. Slow motion would be best so I can detect the kinematic sequence

    RA,

Lets take a peek one clip at a time:

    Notes to point out:

Backswing - Slight Push Out on the takeback

Downswing & Exit - Swing Direction too far left

Swivel - to finish = Huge improvement

    Notes to point out:

I would eliminate the pre swing move to 'impact hands' as this promotes the Push Out on the backswing

I would recommend a sensation of dragging - mid body hands on the take back

Backswing Pivot - Way too much lean 'left' on the backswing

Recommend sensing the left chest moving down towards the left foot more on the backswing

    with a finished product that looks like this: {not the greatest camera view}

    MJ,
    Thanks
I will work on it, how do I work on these items...... Down swing and exit too far left how to correct it? How to teach myself to swivel whats the drills? So on the backswing get my left chest muscle to move more down toward my left foot whats the drill or feel ? The tough one is how to feel the dragging clubhead feel in the backswing to get rid of that forward press move .... I seem not to be able to hit the ball when I try it? So study a bit more Larry Mize? MJ Thanks for all the info can you hit me back with some ways to add these things....... Swivel and takeaway with mid body hands...... and exit of the club.... I guess I over did the correction of swing left after impact?

    MJ,
Went to the range today forgot the video camera; worked on what I felt as the finish swivel, then worked on mid body hands and a lagging club head takeaway to prevent the pop out of the club, then worked on the backswing pivot getting that left chest towards that left foot. made me feel as if I was leaning forward but the ball flight said I was hitting it better when I did them all.... Nice High ball flight.....

Very hard to achieve the finish swivel as I dont understand how to get that back of the left hand turn to the plan on the through swing after impact and into the both arms straight....

I am going to read the TGM book again to try and understand how to achieve
    the finish swivel.....

Wasnt making contact with the ball at first with the feeling of dragging the club away so what I tried to feel was a step on the right foot then internal rotation of the body.

The backswing has been a challenge for me so I will keep up the hard work, I will post some video in a few just to see the work I have been. I hope I am doing these things the way I should?

    Thanks

    MJ,

Here are some shots of the range work; please let me know if I am on the right track with the takeaway and the backswing pivot and the finish swivel?

Backswing pivot is very very difficult for me and I dont know why? I'm in good shape but dont seem to be able to get off the left side for some reason ... I DONT KNOW HOW and at myself..... I should be able to do this...

Sorry for starting the video so early I had the camera on the tripod ...... Please fast forward the vidoes to the mid way point around the 2:50 mark...

    Thanks for everything brother...
