Since no one has yet to offer a view, please consider mine first. To me it is the club face (where the sweet spot is) turning from an open position on the downswing to a square position on impact to a closed position after impact.
Mostly this is achieved by using the swivel of the left arm and not right hand wrist manipulation.
Hope that helps. Maybe Mike will consider making a tip video out of this in his next release.
In a conventional pattern the club is open at the top........ {open relative to the ball that is unless the golfer is doing some super arching of the wrist or has the club face closed relative to the back of the hand and the forearm}
Therefore, that golfer cannot just drive the sweet spot towards the ball, if they do the face will be open relative to the ball and even possible hit a shank. So, somewhere in the downswing the sweet spot has to turn back to face the ball for a properly aligned strike. Hope that helps... in this tip I discuss it in detail -

You were 100% correct. The Umbrella Drill is an great drill. It made everything pop into place. Hitting all clubs great except for the driver. I swear if I could hit a driver I could score underpar. I know I am mental but it is driving me crazy.
This along with the umbrella drill really help me start stiking the ball straight and pretty contact on most shots except for the driver. Which of your DVD's would you recommend that the pattern matches up with this type of swing?
Gravity,
Glad to hear the Umbrella Drill helped organize your swing pattern and put everything together. All the videos touch on the subject. Watch the 10 Things Every Golfer Should Know dvd for the section on the driver and you will have better success.
What is happening when you hit your driver?

Very low traj. and smother hooks. Impact to toward bottom of club and heel.
Now last time out I started addressing the ball off the toe of the club and traj was still low but impact and direction was good. Played 9 holes and hit all but one fairway Height was probably 50 off the ground which is OK if course is dry but on wet courses I am dead as ball tops on impact with ground. Playing a 10.5 Ping G5. Tried out drivers and height does not change greatly.
