Creates some good speed in his swing and there is no "holding on" in the swing, which is a big positive. Clubface looks good at the top. My guess would be he thins a lot of shots.

He has the same look at the top as my oldest son that we have been working to remedy. I would recommend less of a collapse of the right wrist and right elbow up there and more of a "waiter holding a tray" feel.

The clubhead flees - the center of mass of the clubhead has left the building by the time his left arm is parallel to the ground. I would fix the top then address the body by adding some right side bend.... perhaps a feeling of his whole right side being closer to the ground when his hands are at their low point.

The last thing is that he may just need to get those arms swinging faster.

I am not a pro, so have zero time on the line fighting for my supper by teaching, so please defer to the wonderful teachers on this board... my advice may be worth what you paid for it.

EDIT: Suppose you could also keep the look at the top and just make sure you really make your first move with the hands behind you so that the club doesn't flee so early... Kaymer, Luke Donald, Watson... bunch of amazing players have that look. We will see what the experts think.

    Mike,

Yesterday, i started off the day 5 over after the first 3 holes then proceeded to shoot a 79 at Bethpage Blue. Overall the release has improved my game dramatically, but I know there is so much more room for improvement.

Looking at my current swing, what can I work on to improve my swing?

Thanks again for all your help.

What's your typical ball flight "under the gun"?

Have you had the opportunity to get on a launch monitor?

My good shots are pretty much straight. Bad shots are mostly a pull, but I definitely have my fair share of shots to the right. Ive been on the launch monitor a bunch of times, but not since I made the change to the new release.

Wait a second? Mike when was that second video taken? Not as recent as the one that started the thread obviously.

Its hard for me to look at that swing. My swing has improved alot since I started the well timed release.

    Hey Mike,

I have 2 suggestions for you to begin with. I took a screen shot of your current swing and placed it into a drawing program. See if you can follow the instructions in the diagram. We need to eliminate that 'target side lean' of your upper trunk on the backswing. The target side lean creates that exaggerated backswing and forfeits some ability to create power and consistency. Take a look at the diagram below and let me know if you have any questions.
