    Hey guys, just wondering if I could get your thoughts on my swing, sorry Ive only got the one angle. Im self-taught my miss is a hook but I have a neutral grip, probably from swinging too far right. I was hitting it great a few weeks back but have lost it abit. Would love to hear michaels and members thoughts really, as much as you can with the little footage. Thx guys.

    Ok, so you're like a mile away from the camera and you're swinging about 250 miles per hour but......

    I'm not sure your grip is nuetral.

    It's looks like the club face is pointing at the sky during the blur of the top of the back swing I sorta saw. It also looks like you're rehearsing some type of left wrist down arching move which will close the club face even more. You may be swinging too far to the right but you could also have a flip causing hooks. It's quite difficult to tell from the video you provided.

    Looks powerful though, not a bad move at the ball for self taught. Nice.

    Glad to see you have posted up your swing. The camera is sooo far away but I am able to see a bunch of things I would start to work on.

    #1 Address

    I would definitely take more a conventional address with your upper body. Here is a picture that should be quite obvious as to what may be a better approach for your set up




    #2 Backswing

    In spite of how erect your upper body is at address, you make a very pronounced upward movement of the upper trunk on the backswing which is definitely effecting the overall upward and downward movement of the club through out the swing. I would add a sensation of of your chest facing down on the backswing along with shrinking the right side of your body on the backswing.

    Those are the 2 items I can see, other ideas are a bit too far away for me to make a judgement on.

    Thx Michael Ive never felt comfortably in my posture, when standing over the ball I feel like my lower back muscles are strained, I think this arching lifts my chest up in the backswing, any video tips on posture?

    I would definitely make some adjustments to your address body posture. As you can see from the images above a normalized body position at address would promote much more of a conventional upswing.

    There are some better players who stand very erect but they make some pronounced movements during the upswing and downswing that lower themselves into a favorable positioning for applying the club for contact.

    As you look at the image above, notice the little shape I placed on the upper back. The portion of the upper back highlighted, is a very important reference for striking balls with a golf club that swings on a inclined angled. I would like you to envision that spot on your back and then lower your upper body to a much more conventional location like the photo of the model at address. Adjusting this back location will change the location of your vision line, notice the 2 different fields of vision between yourself and the golf model on the right.

    The location of the upper back highlight by the red marker, is a very key concentration point for the golfer as they approach the final phases of their downswing.
