    Mike,
Happy New Year. Was curious on your research trips with Brian Manzella, how does the Search for the Perfect Swing by Alastair Chochran and John Stobbs hold up?

    Ric,

First off, its called 'Parametric Acceleration' and its not even a real term ....

For those that don't know, the concept involves the phenomenon of inward pull of the club towards the bottom area of the swing generating an extra velocity to the club head.

A scientist by the name of Miura discussed this in a golf swing research paper.

What this means in my interpretation and simplest of explanations is that the inward force of the golfer holding onto the golf club and not allowing it to fly out becomes much more dominant towards the impact area than the accelerations of the club trying to fly outward. Those applying an extra inward type force are giving an extra velocity to the clubhead on a micro scale.

Good to hear from you and hope all is well!

That is a great question and a topic of discussion we have been having. Every single expert we have come in contact with has been very fond of the work done in Search for the Perfect Swing. When researching there are always lists of references with every idea and research study paper. Almost all give reference to Search for the Perfect Swing.

When something gets published in a major scientific journal or media it passes through a rigorous process of being extra certain of the validity of the science. Search for the Perfect Swing is a common reference and a very well touted work. What is interesting and should be brought to attention is that I have not found 1 reference to Homer Kelley and Golf Machine. Not to beat a dead horse, but it is useless.

So, Search for the Perfect Swing is an excellent source!

PS - Question for you, what was you all time low score on the Par 3 in golf camp?? My friend and I were discussing this the other day, we came up with his 23 as lowest we had heard of.. Happy New Year!

    MJ,
Parametric pressure is the name of a techno band

But I did like the conversation on the Anti-summit about the upward and inward force in Sadlowskis swing.

    Mike,
I remember firing a 25 once, i will have to e-mail a couple of buddies to see what their low score would be. That would be fun to go back and play the par 3 again. It is funny when I talk to people who played Smithtown Landing no one remembers the church pews up the right side of #8.

Also if they perfect a perfect swing will all players be able to accomplish this swing or is it for the pro`s only or low handicappers?

Anyone ever read The Golf Swings In the Plural (1962) by Major L.L.B. Angas, "A Reconciliation of The Conflicting Teachings of the Different Pro's"? It is rare to find this booklet. He discussed this as the Contacting Spiral-a pigtail shaped curve at Impact. Funny, everything old is new again.
