Mike is there a diferent way to use the sand wedge than the other clubs I have trouble with it. I cant get distance,or hit it straight. Its 56 deg. I definatley have to play it off my back foot or it doesnt go. I use a slilghtly open stance and most of the time I pull it. When I have to just drop the club on the ball on a real short shot it goes straight and accurate, except on a full shot. Any ideas...By the way putting is MUCH bettter and reading. I also know my irons are to heavy for me I tried a 55 degree iron and couldnt beleive high high and good I hit it. So I now neeed to get the right clubs, thanks to you. Here I am banging my head with my swing and most of the problem is the clubs, I`m sure you can attest to that. So thanks again for making me a better player . Do they have a super super senior pga....joe

    Joe,

Glad to hear you are putting much better. Just think of all that golf you played and NOW you know how to read the green

Speaking of reading, I need help reading the horse race forms for the breeders cup - make sure you send me your picks as promised!!

As for the sw, sounds like you are trying to get too much out of it on a full shot and it sounds like you are laying the face back. Check that left wrist again and try to make sure you are using it for 50 yards max!

You need new clubs, I would recommend the Tom Wishon irons and the KZG Q Woods. I have the fitting systems here and a launch monitor coming next spring

    Hi Mike,

Can you explain the logic in the statment above, I am very interested. I have a question about this. My clubs are as follows:

    PW - 150
    GW - 135
    54 - 115
    58 - 100

Would you advocate that I should never hit the 58 or 54 that distance? If so, would would I get those yardages? 3/4 shots with other clubs? Just curious because my gap would be huge if I only hit my sw(58) 50 yards max.

    Thanks!

    Swing O,

That distance was directed to Joe parr only. I gave him a 2 hr lesson the other day so I know his game well. That is not directed towards others , sorry you got confused

No problem. I am just curious about your short-game philosophy. Many say to never hit full wedges. Hopefully you will have a video to purchase on the topic some day. I will be first in line.

    Thanks!
