I will be hosting Henri Johnson designer and CEO of Flightscope for a phone discussion next Wednesday the 29th of Sept.

During the discussion we will discuss the finer points of 3D ball and club measurement, technology of tomorrow, design features and much more...

I am accumulating a list of discussion topics and would like to know if anyone has some suggestions to add to the discussion

The phone discussion will be recorded and broadcast here on the forum afterwards

I am all ears for discussion topics??????????

What is Minimum club/ball speed that can be detected by the radar?

Any chance that some of the now calculated numbers will be measured or is this a non issue?

What is the minimum clubhead speed required to achieve a noticeable difference in distance between clubs (6 - 8 yards)with a stock set of golf clubs, 2010 model.

At what point does ball speed play more/less of a factor when determining initial start direction and curvature?

    Hi Mike,

I have been away for a while and had a busy summer but have been trying to keep up with the info on the site.

I have a question as to how the machine factors in mishits like toe and heel shots, and how much those mishits factor the d-plane/ball flight and or if they can measure that. As with most amateur players there are more miss hits on a regular basis that affect the ball flight.

I also wonder Mike if you use face tape on a regular basis with players that have irregular swings that may skew their data in relation to their ball flight. For example an in to out swing with a club face closed to the path that actually fades because of a heel hit.

I will try to think of some other questions as I can too.

Take care and talk to you soon.

Since FS is far more affordable than TM, are they considering a marketing program to get more FSs out to driving ranges/instruction centers a la TM @ a place like Novogolf? http://www.novogolf.com/tm.pdf

I think 3-D monitors are going to be big and the first company to be available to the general public will be well-rewarded. I know Albany is not New York or Boston, but we have 750,000 people in the metro area, and there are a hell of a lot of Albanys in the USA. I suspect we could support a couple of units in the area.

I was just in Albany the first week of the month for the Futures Tour event at Capitol Hills. I played in the proam and worked the tournament for three days. There aren't very many driving ranges in the Albany area, the one I found was on Rte 4 way south of Troy. Maybe Mayor Jennings would put one in at Capitol Hills. :-)

Ben, give me a call the next time you are in town. I was offered a chance to play in the PA, but a wrist injury messed up the end of my season. There is a driving range at Capital Hills, but it is not terribly useful since you cannot see the ball land past the 150 sign. There are many ranges in the area. I was referring to the Albany-Schenectady- MSA (Metropolitan Statistical Area) which has dozens of ranges.

P.S. When you are in Albany, the Explosive Golf School is only about 4.5 hours away by car. Be glad to join you in a trip to see Mike.

I will do that. I won't be there again until next September. I know they have a range at Capital Hills I was referring to the 3D monitor.

During tournament week you can't use the range so it's difficult to find a place. My gps only came up with a couple.

    Michael,

Any update on a reschedule time for your podcast with Henri Johnson?

That would be a good discussion to listen to.

    Thanks.
