Today I had my normal physical and health assessment all is well, which is a great feeling!
The fun thing I wanted to tell you all, about is, we had a sports medicine Doc and Phyiscal therapist and we had a biomechanicist at the clinic today and a Podiatrist.
So as we all know as golfers were always looking for ways to get better.
They all where over in the Physical therapy center so I went over and asked if they would do physical assessments of my body movements for my golf swing. Which they all looked at me like I was nutty or something, They said let them finish up what they were doing and come back in a hour in work out cloths, So an hour has passed and I go back .

The first person that sees me is the Podiatrist she asked me to walk and does and exam of my feet and then asked me to make my golf swing without shoes so I did.
Then the PT guy looks does and exam and looks at my hips and my over all flexibility then looks at the golf swing.
Then the sports med doc looks at me and checks my knees and shoulders and such then ask me to make some swings and do some little things on the PT equipment.
Then they all came over to talk with me and it was pretty interesting what they told me … I thought I couldn’t do certain things in the golf swing and I have been trying and trying. I never knew why but now I have an Idea….

So the foot doctor told me bottom line that I would be an ideal candidate for molded orthotics to help the condition of my foot structure and the way I walked and the golf swing I had. Which I schedule to do the mold in 3 weeks and first they gave me some orthotics to try a little better than the over the counter ones but not designed just for me to see what affect it will have. I put them in right away to start getting use to them she said get use to them gradually

The Physical therapist tolded me I was inflexible through my hip and low back area and that I had tight hamstrings and psoias (spelling) and I was Thick (built up) “yeah baby “through my shoulder and chest and back area a bunch of muscle fiber. So I need a flexibility plan which they gave me.

The sports med doc first said I should lose some weight ( lmbo) which I knew that I weigh 197 lb and I am 5'11" Ideal for me would be 185 to 190. Then he said I had a bit of a challenge with the right and left hip and the right knee it was stable but wasn’t as stable when I was making a pivot around that right hip that I was trying to do and it gave a bit , so I tried to soften up the right knee a bit… also the shoulder turn was a challenge but they’re not golfing teachers but he could see where I had (lack of a better term a vertical shoulder turn to steep.) Also he could see some over use activity in my body one side seemed stronger than the other…
I seem all messed up to be a guy that I assumed , was in great shape since I work out and run all the time and I walk the course a bunch. I also like to lift weights ever since my younger days and playing football. I guys I have a football body trying to play golf… LOL So I guess I need to work out more on the right stuff for golf or find a pattern that my body can do and repeat efficiently .

Just wanted to share my fun morning at the clinic!!!!

    RA,

No one is perfect We had Dave Kuck a Physical Therapist and 3D Amm expert here at the Ultimate Golf School this past weekend. He did a physical assessment of everyone who was in the school. I am going to contact Dave and set up a meeting and see if he would like to be a pro contributor to our website. As my season winds down I really want to crank up the content on this site and get participation from multiple fields of study. Dave will be able to share his expertise when questions of this nature arise, I am calling him now...

Yes he will. Dave is compiling a nice introduction for himself and we will dedicate a lot of time an effort on the site towards 3D motion capture for golf and physical improvement. As soon as he sends it over to me we I will post it up

Still waiting on dave to send all of the information to me, he and I have an infomercial scheduled to shoot where we are going to go over all the possibilities of 3D motion capture - biomechanics - and how it integrates with Explosive Golf research and studies. We are scheduled for next week so weather permitting we should have some good stuff posted in the near future. I am considering dedicating a large portion of my website to 3D motion capture now that we have it armed and ready at my golf school
