Hi Michael. Assuming the majority of amateurs you teach are very steep and come "over the top"...what would be your top 3 or 5 concepts to combat this death move.

    1. Hip Bump - Tailbone in front of Neck
    2. Pulling down with the left arm
    3. Back to target
    4. Arms drop
    5. Karate chop?

I"m guessing here....but I'm hooking the ball off the planet with "right palm away and bent back" It's got to be my path....JRJ

    JRJ,

Where does your ball flight start out ? Is it left of the target from the start and then even more left or is it starting right of the target and hooking???

Of the list you made I do #1 and an Impact hand location to improve an 'over the top move' also a clubface adjustment is key.

Michael, nevermind...it was a path issue. I got it figured out by re-watching your takeaway video tip. (If I don't get enough arm lift on my takeaway I have no choice but to come over the top on the way down)

Your video tips have really helped me understand my swing - not exactly sure what pattern I should be working toward, but I'm getting there. JRJ

Glad everything has helped you!!! If you can't make it up to Ny for some lessons feel free to send me your swing and I will help you decipher your pattern!
