Well...there was no wind!
Actually then I played 9 holes the next day and it was about 44 with no wind and very pleasant. Played with one of the better one armed players in the country who is a member and real nice guy. He has a terrific move and can pump it out there pretty good!
Today 24 degrees with wind=no golf!! LOL

There is nothing a golfer can do at this point to alter what is taking place during this
interval. There are things that you can do early in the downswing to influence the club
head’s delivery conditions but nothing a golfer can do during the impact interval.....................................
If this is a fact then why do we have to have the so called wedding ring up??
Joe,
It is a definite fact! When you say wedding ring up, you are referring to swiveling beyond the impact. The overall movement changes the impact characteristics. But, when the ball and club are in contact it is left to its own devices. Another words - you can't steer the ball or add gusto!!!

Great question Smurph!
Yes it can, the point I was trying to drive home is that while the ball and club are in contact there is nothing that you can do to alter the collision. The ball and club are in contact for about 3/4 of an inch and during that time you might as well be striking a 'piece of paper' {as Dr Williams put it}
There are preparations that you can do before and during the movement to effect the way the club comes into and leaves contact.
There are so many fascinating facts also about the shaft... I have been enjoying tallying up all the research and look forward to publishing
