Jack,
Speaking for myself - I have left the building fully {so to speak}
As time has gone on, it is IMPOSSIBLE to retro fit all the new information technology has provided us. Homer Kelley's work dates back to pre 1983, things have changed. Everyone is after me these days saying that I am misrepresenting Homer Kelley and throwing him under the bus {so to speak}
I think quite the opposite, I am sure the man did everything he could up to the point - his researched ended in 1983. Just think he had no finances and no research budget, and no technology.
My only intention in purchasing the company in 2001 was to redesign and update, I would never have left it as is. Sally Kelley agreed with me in our visit.
So, the new scientific material in Project 1.68 is 100% technology based, scientific based, and will be designed to allow for future technological advances.
I had planned on being a Golfing Machine member for a lifetime, but the recent Instructor Agreement disallowed editorial review and advancement of the text so I was forced to resign my Authorized Instructor status as of October 25, 2010.
Really no other choice available - Felt like I was breaking up with a girl!!

Good luck in your venture Mike, go be your own man and develop the new standard in golf instruction and not another cookie cutter instructor. Like you said your goal is to be a house hold name, not another book on the self that is read once and not looked at again. Best Wishes....Eugene
I am really excited by this. I came to you via TGM but I always thought the premise behind homer having revised his book 7 times was that it was always to be a work in progress and that as the ability to learn more with technology and available information the more revisions the book would take. it was very sad to see the new ownership become "fundamentalists" instead of innovators.
I hope the book or CD or DVD or whatever technology is next that you and Brian create continues in the same light that Homer started by trying to get it right and challenge every idea to find the best ones to implement.
