When you get a chance. Or anyone else. I have a small camera and couldnt set it up well. But I tried my best to get something out there that will show impact position (kinda) and back swing/pivot. I need to get my wife to help me next time so she can hold it and catch my full body. Update, I'm hitting a 6 iron as well.

    thanks guys.

    jdotson,

Glad to see you posted up your swing..

A couple of questions for you to begin our discussion:

Do you have a tough time controlling the club face???

I am sure you have noticed some upward movement of your trunk on the backswing - Since we don't have a down the line view, answer this - does your club travel well behind you on the take back?

Do you struggle with your right hand on the club?

    Lots of balls travel left?

    Thanks so much for looking

I will try and get new swing videos with down the line views and better full video. I had the camera setup on my alignment sticks haha and tried the best I could by myself.

Yes, I really notice my trunk turn and the weird looking bump up, it’s odd. Yes, my left hand (feels nice) but correct my right hand does struggle. Yah, my misses are strong pulls (meaning they are solid feeling) but go left and sometimes pretty hard left when I'm really off.

It does travel behind me, I don’t have a confident feeling back swing at times either.

thanks Michael for spending the time

    Jdotson,

Lets take a look at some of the pictures of your swing above. From the one basic little swing video, here is what I can gleam:

    1. Right hand grip, I would adjust your right hand on the club so that your right palm does less 'grabbing' ... to do this I would move the club handle in your hands towards the lower portion of the right hand fingers instead of being pressed into the palm {let me know if you need more clarification on that}

    2. The right hand adjust will promote a bit of a better upswing direction... but I would then adjust your upswing direction to work less behind you. The club swinging back too far behind you on the take back promotes a 'heave' of the club up to the top of the backswing which promotes your major up and down torso movement. I would have you have a straighter back upswing, get your shirt buttons to be over your right thigh, and your face feeling like its over your right foot {this should make some make backswing improvements

I knew from the video shots that you would have been someone who hits a lot of shots left based on the face location at your finish. Note the circle and arrow I place on it in the above pictures. That is not a uniform club face movement and shows signs of the club moving within your hands and 'closing left' drastically. I would like to see the club face pointed more "down" towards the floor for you. Preparing to execute that type of club face movement should help the impact characteristics. Let me know if you need further help explanation & good luck on the adjustments

Thanks Michael for poiting out areas I can improve on and I already have!

You have a great tip in your nuclear golf swing video as well for the right hand i used. Basically for me I turned my right hand more left and it covered my left thumb better and in doing this my right hand fingers were more so supporting the club and I could feel my trigger finger better as well. Does that sound about right? This did help a ton with fixing my shots going left.

My back swing is another story. Its still a work in progress but I'm going to keep working on your fix tips and post another video after a while with better camera angles.

thanks again, and have a great week!

    Jdotson,

Glad you are working diligently on your golf game! The descriptions that you gave referring to your new right hand location sound great, those adjustments are exactly what we were trying to accomplish.

I think the backswing will take some work to change some of the tendencies that we saw but I think you can do it. The right hand adjustments are going to promote a better upswing as well...

Have you been monitoring where the club face is ending up at the finish?? Perhaps with some practice swings in a mirror?

Keep us posted on your progress
