I know this getting old but I played yesterday and did the interlock and played great. I seem to get more hinge and flexibility/ comfortability with the interlock. My shots have much more loft and are not as line drivish. Gonna play today and do 9 one grip and 9 the other. Thanks for listening to my madness.
Horse, I never find a topic to be old. If you read what Mike said, his problem was NOT with the interlock per se, but rather some problems it can introduce. I changed two years ago from a baseball grip to the overlock. I could not drive the ball for a month. You have given it all of five days, and not even on an exclusive basis.
Thanks guys. Yeah I played today and was switching every hole. I need to stay with overlap for at least a month. I'll keep you posted.
I would not set a specific time frame. The ball could care less how you hold the club. I changed because my instructor believed the baseball grip encouraged the flip. I would give it at least several practice sessions. If you are getting nowhere, let Mike be your guide.
Don't worry about keeping a topic going. It is good to know other's are having similar problems, and keeps my club(s) out of the Mohawk and Hudson rivers.

Over lap - Interlock - 10 Fingers -
Ultimately doesn't matter as long as it facilitates a desirable hand placement. There are many times I see golfers struggle with interlocking. In an effort to interlock, they do it excessively and end up shifting their hand and palm placements.
Horsegoer was excessively changing his hand positioning when attempting to interlock. I think he should make the switch!
I found this excellent video tip from the extreme archives:
