Swing Feedback | My Personal Golf Trainer

This is a device made for the Wii where a more sensitive device is added to the Wii controller to provide the needed information. You can add the Wii Balance Board for more analysis but it's not required. The golf trainer is $99 and the controller extension is like $15. The balance board is about $50 or so. I don't care much for Ledbetter's instruction but the game itself is very interesting. They said they had more detailed data from the device but pared it back for the normal golfer. They "assign" swing faults to ingrained Ledbetter swing concepts and drills. I just like to see the swing results against a better plane, etc.

I'm not sure this would help anything benjazz. You don't use a club, you don't hit a ball. I don't see it being anything more than a toy.

I can whip some ass on TW2010 for Wii but I can't really bring it to the course, no what I mean? It may be good for a kid or a new golfer but for an experienced golfer, uhh... no.

If you have a Wii, sure go for it and have some fun but don't take the feedback as gospel. There is reason why Trackman/Flightscope cost the big bucks. IMHO, this is probably great for something like the first tee, kids looking to get into golf and to market to new golfers, that's it though.

I am going to check this site out and read it tonight.

When a golfer doesn't hit a ball things change a lot

I was approached through an agent by Playstation to have something not quite like this but in this type of ball park called Explosive Golf. Not even sure yet what they want the game / system to accomplish

I need to read up on this, will report back

Shot Limit, I know what you mean, in fact some of this was discussed in one of the videos from the site or in other comments I found. What I think it might help with is if someone is so far off plane or out of whack with their swing (like me) then this could help them get to a better place plane-wise, then you work on what the ball result is.

I have been working for months on my backswing and it's not easy. You video yourself, wait to transfer the video and look at it in 260 fps just to be disappointed. This could provide a faster path to making a more correct move like in my situation.

Most of you have good swings and are probably tweaking them based upon Mike's vast knowledge and understanding of better swing mechanics. before I can improve my swing I need to get it looking like a swing first. I can't fly 3000 miles to NY to work with Mike anytime I want so I'm looking for the best method I can get at a reasonable price. My biggest problem is a disconnect from doing and then seeing what I'm doing. What feels right to me isn't always right so I would like to have faster feedback.

I understand what you're saying Jim. Sometimes when you're desparate for answers you look for anyway to improve; I totally get that. If you have a wii already I'd say go for it, you may get some constructive feedback. In a nut shell, I don't think it would hurt your game.

I have a wii at home and I have a few golf games. Swinging a wii remote around is nothing like swinging a golf club and IMO it really changes the dynamic vs. a real golf swing with a golf club, feeling the weight of the club and how it affects your swing. That's really all I was trying to say. I don't want to discourage you from something you think might help and I know how passionate you are about golf. I just wouldn't expect too much out of it. You could prob do just as well with a buddy giving you some feedback if he knows the positions you're trying to achive.

From what I've read the analysis is based on an ideal swing, but is it ideal for you? I think you just have to take it for what it's worth, that's all bud.

    Anywho, good luck Jim.

Just as a caveat there is an attachment called a chicken stick......

    BadChicken.com - Chicken Stick

that puts a golf grip and partial shaft on a Wii controller, lol, that simulates a golf club. It might make your Wii golf games more realistic.

    Benjazz,

Looked at the site finally, this is exactly what sony is planning and explosive golf is being pitched to them. I think it's cool, technology is getting awesome these days. Can't wait for the new Flightscope software that will integrate the cassia high speed camera to the flight screen. If you get it benjazz post up some reviews

Haha, the more I see this the more I like it. When the dude was doing the choke drill it seemed like he didn't understand what the game was telling him about tilting the "club" more towards him. Shot Limit was dead on, he is quite comical. I liked the driving range part when he was analyzing the swing and showed the flat backswing and the over the top move into the ball. I think it's these "larger" movements that this game can help people with their swings.

I'm thinking of getting one, I'm just waiting for a reply from the Ledbetter people as to whether or not the chicken stick will work with their game. I think I'll ask the chicken stick people too.

What video game titles does the Chicken Stick work with?

The Chicken Stick works with any Wii golf games that during the swing motion either require that no buttons be pressed, or only the B Button is pressed. The Chicken Stick allows access to all other buttons and control when not engaged in a swing motion. However, the Chicken Stick provides the most realistic experience with the Tiger Woods PGA Tour™ 11 for the Wii
    .

I could have swore I heard that guy on the youtube video saying "you have to press four buttons at once"
