    To all,
I really enjoy the golf tournament and the tv coverage this weekend on all the different stations. I just feel that the announcers need to freshen up on some of the new information that’s out there. Example when TW was hitting a shot into the par 3 six I think it was Faldo made the comment that TW was about to hit a certain shot but then he said “well I don’t know cause I can’t tell what he is aiming at anymore” ... well those of use that understand a few things better now knows he was aiming to for is resultant path and the D plane and his efforts to hit straight balls....

Also the other guys were making some of the worst calls every for the shots and why things happen.

Also they assume that we the viewers don’t know of other golfers by making comments that non of you all knew who Jason Day was or that the Winner we haven’t talked about but actually that’s not true... Just seems that those guys are close to the game at that level but are lost on what’s happen in the world outside of their PGA world and the advances that are being made in the science and understanding of golf...

    RA,

Great post, I watched the last 12 holes and enjoyed the shot making. Adam Scott is about to become to major force if he can keep the long putter going, I am very interested to see his continual success. I am a big proponent of the the Long & Belly putter as it makes the style of 'PENDULUM TIMING' very easy to do.

The announcing is on these telecasts is brutal. Faldo, Johnny Miller and Curtis Strange make me want to hit mute and listen to some music in the background. You made a good point about how they have no clue of what a golfer is really doing, but how many golf pros out there know what the heck they are talking about?

I think a few long putters will be sold I've never tried one maybe it would be cool. I will see if my buddy as any at the shop. That I could mess around with.

Yes music might be a great idea then I could guess and see if I can tell what the players are doing, because thats all their doing.

But it was a really enjoyeable tournament to watch... That guy TW had me jumping of the lazy boy and then the back ( the entire field had me jumping off the dang lazy boy) What a great Sunday evening... I would have love to see the " CAT" pull it out.... Yes SCOTTY played well I love to watch him swing and hit the ball.

    Michael,

Could you expand on your thoughts about the long and belly putters? I just started using a long putter with a little bit of success. I've been using the B. Langer method where I just use my right arm as a "piston" vs. rocking my shoulders. Any thoughts on your preference of one of these methods or the other? For me, I had gotten way too mechanical with the short putter and liked the simplicity of the long putter.

    Thanks,
    Jeff

    Hi Jeff,

I am going to give you some observations I have made on LONG & BELLY putters -- These are of course observations as there is no research behind it other than my expertise:

Belly Putters and Long Putters give the golfer an easier way to match up with a 'Pendulum' style timing mechanism to their stroke

I have observed that the longer putter length allows the golfer to aim better -- How ??? -
The longer putter promotes a 'STRAIGHT OUT GAZE' from the face and makes the optics of the AIM easier.

The 'SIGNATURE PUTT' is much easier to reproduce

'Straight Stroking' is easier with the heavier weight along with the anchor at the top of the putter which provides a stable axis

Let me know if you need clarifications of these points, those of you who have attended my putting classes and writings will understand the terminology but it may be vague to some... let me know how I can help

    On a side note,
There seems to be a Long/Belly putter aptitude

What I mean by that is some people take to the longer putter immediately but most people have no initial coordination and feel with the longer putter. There seems be many more people who DON'T take well to it than DO
