Mike I`m having so much trouble taking a divot. I constatley lift my chest up on the down swing after I hit the ball resulting in top and skulled shots. I know that my axsis tilt is suppose to be forward etc. I have trouble doing that . Is there another way I can stay down on the shot so I can take a divot. If I can sovle this problem I can play good golf. My future is in your hands......................................only kidding, joe

    Joe,

Upper body pulling up excessively can come from any number of things. Something as simple as trying to over power the ball, or trying to fit the club in after a poor swing path.

What I often find is that when the golfer shuts down their lower bodies or excessively pull their arms inward toward contact - the result is the trunk flaring up. I would also try and understand that at contact we have more bend to the right side of our body as opposed to just having our body bent forward.

These are just some nuggets on the subject, fill me in with some more info on what you think is happening and we will get to the bottom of it
