What happens if your lie angles are off? Does the ball curve more or is it that it starts and stays on the wrong line. I'm trying to ask whether the lie angle would be responsible for a pull, but not a hook or a push but not a slice. Or is it both?

    Bob,

Have you ever hit them off a lie board?? Its a simple 2 second check to see where the mark is on the sole of the club.

Lie angles that are off have a similar effect that hitting off side hill shots would. The face would be tilted either up or down and effect the initial launch. Off Center shots and shots where the face is diverged from the path of the club will created a tilt in the spin of the ball. If your lie angles are extremely off, I would take a look at the swing itself for adjustments.

Hope that helps, I am sure there is a lie board at your home club. Let us know what your shots look like off the board
