For those of you out there that are having trouble with your swing still in what area are you having the trouble. OK, mine is the pivot and downswing. I found out that I really dont have a pivot problem I thought I had to hit it with my pivot and was accually screwing up my swing. I also found out that I got a hands controlled pivot (that works better for me than a pivot control hands) Now as far as the downswing the real issues most have I do better with my hand control pivot that lets me stay behind the ball and I feel more powerfull with my swing. When I used my body I couldnt get the sequence right on the downswing. Of this works for me. The last few yrs with all this new info I was getting I just didnt interpid it right and wasted 4 yrs. I think I`m on the right track now caus I`m hitting better ,playing better, and feel good about my self and my game. I just started this thread to see if any of you feel this way about your gaame and see if we could help each other mentally....jmo....joe,

I have made a lot of progress in the last couple of years with improving my pivot, proper sequencing, etc. It looks a ton better on video and I got some positive feedback from Mike.

I am having issues controlling ball flight, prone to starting the ball off straight and towards the end of the ball flight, seeing it make a hard right hand turn (slice). Other times I start it left and then see a big hook. as it relates to scoring on a golf course, these shots are killing me, and still recording scores in high 80, low 90.

I was trying to control clubface with the right hand, I am going to change to controlling clubhead rotation with left arm rotation and use right hand feel to control path into the ball.

Given my progress with overall swing, I am disappointed to not be seeing better results. Its been a long road and apparently I still have a ways to go. there is no better feeling than striping a 3 wood or driver down the middle of the fairway, so I will keep trying, but I need to remind myself that as it relates to all the body movements, clubhead path, clubface position at impact and speed of the clubhead, it might not be something I ever master...

Good topic Joe. I don't know where I am, but I am better than I was. I now understand a lot more about my swing, but am having a hard time translating knowledge into feel. I can generally hit the ball very well on the range, but it is not translating onto the course. Fortunately, Mike and another instructor have my short game in good shape so scoring has not been an issue (yet).

phana, played today and still having good results with the hands leading my pivot. Look I`m 75 and hit the ball pretty good. I can hit my driver with very good acuracy about 200 to 220, my weakness is irons which are improving. Its hard for mean to swing down on irons off the tee no problems. Today had to start on the back 9 which is the tougher side and I shot 38 from middle tees on a tough coarse. I made 3 or 4 bad decisions and shot 45 but easily could of broke 80. Got to admit my lesson with mike really made me make my decision of what type of swing I was .going to use Makeing me use the d-plane was the bomb for me, help me hit draws which like I mention on another thread never could. I play 3-4 times a week and when I dont play I`m at the range trying different downswing. I think this is it finally and now I will work on the downswing and pivot every day till I`m at the stage I want to be. Believe me my age has nothing to do with anything yes I`m still trying to improve till I cant play any longer and I still hold my own with the big guys(as long as I get strokes) and do win at times, like today.
OK in closing (feel like its my blog) If your not satisfied with your swing tell mike take another lesson and you soon will find it its there ......joe

Hope you guys are doing better than I am. I really wanted to launch some clubs last night. In my competitive league my handicap went down to 2 (for nine) which places me on the black tees. This introduces a whole new game since bunkers I used to fly over are now in play. Combined with a very wayward driver, I managed 2 GIRs and shot a 43. I can't remember the last time I shot 43. On the way home I was hoping for someone to cut me off. The only saving grace was having the remnants of the back room of the house (crushed by a tree) still attached. I could put some holes in the sheetrock and get some satisfaction.

The good news is I was in rare form when I went down to the city to see where the hell my building permit is. The Building Department will have something to talk about now as they do their crossword puzzles and rotisserie baseball in between scheduled breaks and naps.
