Default How To Train The KS Properly - 06-26-2010, 07:44 AM

MJ,
After a bunch of reading and learning. We understand the KS has an order but whats the proper way to train the KS so that we do it properly. Downswing should be pelvis , then trunk , then arms and lastly the club.

So how do we train our hips and then the trunk and the arms?

Drills ? gym work ? range work ?..... For those of us that are out of sequence how do we learn it and be able to put it to work in the old noodle?

Default Video Tip on KS - 06-26-2010, 11:01 AM

MJ -

I think what would be a perfect quick tip on the ks would be that drill you showed me where you cross your arms across your chest in a golf position and go through the steps without a club. This is an easy drill to train the proper movements in the correct order that we can all benefit from.

Just a thought.

This is a great topic and one that leads to everlasting improvements in your golf game. This will be the crux and purpose of Explosive Golf #2

Here is a sneak peek at the first draft cover design

As for your question, this video will be dedicated just to improving body sequencing and movements. The real ultimate way to improve your sequence is to have a session on a 3D motion measurement machine. These are rare and very expensive machines but the data is invaluable. If one of those are not available, there are ways to understand and improve your movements. Merely understanding the tour averages and data is a great way to begin to understand what great players are doing to apply a seamless swing pattern. As for drills and tips they will all be enclosed in the new movie, but we can throw out a preview tip or two to help everyone out. Any specific area of the sequence you are looking for a tip in?? Or just a generalized tip?

As for a specific tip, I have been having issues with the transition in that I am throwing my hands (specifically the right) out to the ball, creating an OTT move. I would like to know what feels or sensations you have that gets the club in the proper slot. I've tried the ball throw drill, but I still am OTT, with deep, left-pointing divots.

Default Down Swing - 06-28-2010, 10:51 PM

MJ,
Yes how to train the down swing and the sequence to apply the force into the ball and not do it by over powering the move but do it properly... Effortless power!

Mike, are you referring to something like the Taylor Made MATT system? I believe there is one in NY and Boston. Have you looked into the K-Vest system? That appears to more available and affordable, but from what I can tell is less informative.

Gary,

If there has been an effort on your part to swing your arms more to the 'right' on the downswing to avoid the over the top move and there has been no success... then there are some other areas to look at.

#1 is club face - making sure the face is uniform to the swing track

#2 is checking arm movement on the way back making sure that it is not 'too flat' which would cause a lot of carry on the way down

#3 is an adjustment of the kinematic sequence on the downswing of pelvis and trunk relationship. Creation of right side bend from a better kinematic sequence

Let me know which areas you would like me to expand on
