Just read through this thread and there are some great points in here. Also, this thread shows that we have some very smart golfers here that have been educated well and know a lot more than some golf pros.
Rwh is correct as a strong maximum swivel would be required to have any chance of keeping the wrist flat throughout the entire through swing.
The less the swivel, the more likely the wrist will bend earlier. Years ago when I a Golf Machine aficionado I kept my front wrist flat for a very long time as I was using a VERY MAXIMUM SWIVEL. It has been well documented that I am no longer a Golfing Machine anything, as I have uncovered the book to have no scientific value whatsoever.
A standard swivel, allows the back of the left hand to lay on a supposed 'plane' and promotes keeping the left wrist flat for a good portion of the time after impact.
When is an ideal time to allow any wrist bend? Depends on the player and is customizable. The real question to answer is, how is the club behaving.
The golf club behavior is the key!
