Default How do I get to the TSP? Swinging to Flat - 10-20-2009, 10:30 AM

How do I get to the TSP my swing is short and flat and I know I need a longer more upright swing; when i do get it i am straighter and longer by far.
Even when i had my session with BM; he said I needed it but I am losing the feeling on how to get there.
I need some more ideas on how to get to the TSP and more upright and longer in my swing. I was working with a hitting pattern when i started with TGM and it has jack me up as i cant hit the ball out of my shadow thats why I went to see BM. We went with more of a NHA2 style customized swing with more pivot which i didnt have and trying to get higher in my back swing more upright and then swing down the yellow brick road, but when i look at myself on video i've gotten short and flat again.

Towel Plane Board on the way back, hell put something behind you to your right that you'll hit if you don't get steep enough. Get your right hand above your right shoulder, as Bmanz says " like Johnny Unitas" .

Good Luck.

Your blend of arm action and pivot action are out of sync. Sounds to me like your arms are being sucked in behind you by your body pivot. Look at any info regarding "magic of the right foreaarm" or "right forearm tracing". You need to focus on the track your right forearm works up during the backswing. Your forearm needs to actually "lift" as well as fold from the elbow joint if your going to locate the TSP.
I think Mike did a video on Plane Angle Variations so search for that.

RASWING,

I just posted a tip, Backswing Help --- This should help and possibly give you some more ideas... Let me know if you are still having troubles and we can give you more ideas for improvement. The new video tip is in the 2009 Videos and Shows section of site

Default Thanks - 10-21-2009, 10:23 AM

Thanks guys, also i wanted to ask about; how to produce the postive AoA with the driver that all the trackman numbers say to produce.
I was way underplane when i went to see BM Last month but now I have no pop with the driver. But when i do the Trackman specific Driver draw ( aim 25 yards right, hit up about 4 or 5 degrees then pow my distance back but at times i get an underplane hook. What do you all think is the ideal draw low spin high launch that would make trackman smile?

I have went to the trackman site and read the newsletters an also I want to zero out my path for ideal trackman numbers I have had a great break through with the irons but still trying to get it with the driver.

RA,

Ultimately your aim doesn't matter, however I would modify what you are trying to do by aiming less and less right. When I reach ideal stats I feel like I am maybe 3-4 yards aimed a bit right. Also, with the driver brake the left shoulder arm earlier in downswing.....

RAswing,

It means having an earlier release point of the left arm / shoulder / chest relationship with the driver... release point being when the downswing goes from storing the out of line left arm and club to letting them come back in - line... This is dictated by the longer club and the need to have more of a level to upward strike

Default Release (TGM) - 10-22-2009, 11:42 PM

MJ,
So should it be more of a sweep release or random. When I try to get a late max pat, max store I hit it all over the place; but with a more sweep release 1# Acc released early but not to pass my pivot or should I release #4 Acc sooner before my body has time to pass the ball, My head wasn't staying behind the ball at impact so BM had me feel my weight getting more to my left heel so my pivot is working much better. Which i didnt have until I saw BM last month now I can get a high draw.
I was working on a baby fade with the driver but I hit the draw truly 25 yards further. Today I did a test using my GPS two balls (1 fade went 258 but I had too really think about what I was doing doesnt feel natural; but the Draw I aim my (Horz plane line ) aim line to the right and trace a straight plane line with the feel of hitting up being left of the aim line and pow a draw that went 282 using the gps.)
However when I play with my low handicap friends they all think i need what they call more wrist cock and more of a drop in the slot style right elbow more tucked or a late stored pitch elbow (Sergio look) which I dont get because of my super quick tempo. I have more of a punch elbow but not super punch nor pitch some where in the middle of there is such; But what feels like what my arms want to do is more of a sweep or random release. I have TGM and I understand it. My AI buddy trained me on how to read it . I understand release points. MJ but what does a sooner release of the left shoulder arm look like on video is there a video I could watch (online) What has help my game the most this month has been the pivot and better iron play with the Baby fade pattern BM worked with me on and understanding the D-plane and zeroing out my path but the driver has been the challenge going back and forth between Baby Fade and Draw . I like the draw with the driver and the baby fade with the irons and with the 3 and 5 wood a baby fade is the out shot for me. I know thats a lot but G.O.L.F is my passion. Thanks for all the advice. So what does the early release look like?
Very respectfully

RA,
Its best to be seen as snapping the chain earlier ---
The best example would be the Ping Man --- it was one of the topics at the GTE on how the ping man is set to stall the fulcrum or {left shoulder frame} earlier on the driver swing --- it allows an optimized launch
