MJ,
Thanks
Looking forward to the reply; I went out and played 9 holes trying to feel what Ihave been working on at the range on the course.... With the irons I hit some really good shots. With the woods I hit a bunch of what looked like pull draws when I swivel 5 wood and up and the Driver has been a bear to hit but I will stick with it.... Now the driver has become tough to hit again I have a better takeaway and I feel a better swivel still not there yet with the driver. I will keep up the work... I have my club championship this weekend...... ! So i will keep up the work and I look forward to your response

Default Range work Day 3 of this thread. - 05-21-2010, 07:31 PM

MJ,
I have been doing a bunch of range work after work; yesterday I played 18. Here is some video of the range session.

Please let me know if I am on to whats supposed to be done. When I look back at the video .... Doesnt seem if I am getting it right I see better ball flight results though... With the longer clubs it is really hard 4 iron and 5 woods, 3 wood draws that move 17 yards right to left a few straight bullets that hit a run; Driver draws right to left that are off the course / or a push thats off the course....... Still working on it all to get better.... I look forward to your input.

Backswing pivot still driving me up the wall as I am not getting it correct. Yesterday on the course I tried to think of another way to do it on the last 2 holes... I thought of feeling more left side bend on the backswing and more right side bend on the downswing hit some really straight looking balls that where in the middle of the fairway didnt take any video. Maybe I will in the morning just doing left and right side bend to get the body to work right... Then keep adding a finish swivel. Please FAST FORWARD THE VIDEO

SWING CLIPS are in next POST with responses and suggestions from Mike Jacobs

RA,

This backswing movement of the club is a huge improvement! Great Job. Shoulder turn and trunk movement is very steep however

The next step for you is to improve the trunk movement. The trunk movement is too steep as you can clearly see the it makes the neck and head lean target side on the backswing. Lets make the next stride by flattening the trunk movement so it feels to you that it stays level the whole back stroke. Let me know if you need clarification on that topic

If we can flatten the trunk we will be in business, can't really expect a standarized swivel and finish with that steep of a trunk movement on backswing

Flatten this trunk movement ASAP!!!!

MJ,
SMILING.... You said that like my old football coach!!! Will do, so how do I flatten the truck? Should I be looking in the TGM for a flat shoulder turn or trunk? Please clear this one up for me. Is there a video tip that I can watch? So MJ Yes I will need a bit of clarification on how to flatten the trunk.
Thanks a million!!!!
Very respectfully

RA,

Lots of ways to flatten the trunk....

Best little drill I always use is to stand straight up with knees relaxed and place a club or stick across the top of your trunk. Practice some trunk rotations by keeping the club or stick perfectly level to the ground. This will help you achieve the sensation of a flatter trunk move. The shoulder motions article should help you too:

Let us know how you make out with the flatter trunk move!

MJ,
Range work today went well I didnt take the camera out today just working on it using the shadows on the ground I will make a video soon. This has really been tough to get down.

It seems as when I do it correct I hit some really straight shots void of side spin I mean straight. However it seems as If I am trying to swing to fast or pivot to fast or something; It seems that I have to slow down to get it right but it feels so uncomfortable.

I dont know if I am being impatient trying to turn in the backstroke. Seems as something in my mind is not allowing me to turn with a flat shoulder turn. I will keep working on it. Thanks for all the encouragement . Thanks to all !!

Default Would like to ask? - 06-01-2010, 10:43 PM

MJ,
I know I have been working on things in my swing. Can you tell me ( what is the steep trunk causing bad in my swing ? ) What does Flattening the trunk do for me ; Whats the purpose of the finish swivel in the swing? What does the mid body hands backswing feeling of a drag away do?

I know I ask a bunch of questions; Just really trying to learn my golf swing and whats the cause and effect of my body actions in relation to the ball flight? The pivot has been the most challenge thing for me to learn. Worked on a FLW and Clubhead Lag pressure and tracing a straight plane line but this dang Pivot has been a bear for me.

Default Range work (tough day) 4 - 06-02-2010, 10:20 PM

MJ,
Today was really tough at the range. Working on flattening the trunk has been what I feel is well "extremely tough" . I took a few videos; I had the forward press deal beat I thought, but while working on the pivot the forward press returned and the pivot still doesnt seem right. Here are a couple of videos.
