Here is a nice basic way to have the club handle sitting in the hand. Of course there are a lot of variations...

1 ques........the club goes under the pad.......got that
then do you prefer the pad a bit on top of the grip.......or coming in from side...
e
pad on top of the grip is always best. just like a suitcase grab!

Mike,
I am new to the site and I just got your DVD "Explosive Golf" after hearing about you on other websites. Like your ideas about more passive hands and more core centered swing to make "effortless power."Being in CT, I entertain the thought of crossing the Sound someday for a personal lesson.
I got to play golf today and not having played since Dec. 1st it felt great. Of course with 40 degree temp, windy, bulky clothes, and wet but suprisingly playable grounds it posed some challenges but hey I got to play before the year ended.
After viewing your DVD for the first time tonight and then viewing your grip pictures. I have an observation and some questions that perhaps you have addressed before but I hope you can for me. I see that the hypothenar eminence on top of the grip is large enough and fits very easily with the middle fingers strongly against the thenar eminence. I wear a cadet large glove, use standard grips (large thumb) but I don't see as much hypothenar area on top and my fingers dont dig in quite as much as the photo shows. I know all hands and finger sizes differ but would using even thinner grips work better? Choking up a la Anthony Kim?
I found your explanations and drills to be first rate in your DVD. I hope with more viewing I can implement them over this winter and become a "nuclear swinger" this spring.
Happy New Years to you.
Thanks.
Mike
Braveheart,
I am glad that you enjoyed the dvd and had success applying the techniques. I hope one day that you do come down and take some instruction so that I can help you customize your pattern. As for your grip questions, everyone's grip is going to look a bit different. We all have different size hands and fingers, after all we all have different finger prints too. The key is to have a grip that matches your stroke pattern. Seeing less of the heel pad on top is not a bad thing, the pictures you see are of my hand and I have a very large palm. That is probably why my heel pad looks a bit different than yours. If you would like, take some pics of your grip and post them up or email them to me and we will take a look and give you some suggestions
Happy New Year to you too

Mike,
Thanks for the personal reply and interest in my golf game. I will follow up with you soon and hopefully make plans to cross the sound and see you before the official golf season begins. Are you available to see prior to April?
Thanks.
Mike
