Today we commence the Golf Science Symposium in Scottsdale Arizona.

We had a primer discussion last night and it was a great warm up

Looking forward to a fun educational day!!!

By the way, how he heck do the Arizonians do it , it is so hot here and the sun is so strong its like an oven lamp

It is a dry heat. When I was in Albany NY during the first week in September I thought I was going to die with 93 degrees and the humidity. In Tucson today it will be 92 but much dryer. But I'll be in Prescott Az this weekend playing golf where it's in the 70's. :-)

Mike, did your allergies kick in or go away? Usually one or the other happens after coming from the east coast. Where do you think you'll be Thursday afternoon? I'll be driving through on my way to Prescott.

Aside from specific scientific info you learned, what would you say will be the single most significant change in your teaching as a result of the summit. For that matter, with the info gained from radar monitors and the move away from TGM, what would you say are the most significant changes in your teaching over the past 3 years. Anything you just wouldn't teach at all anymore?

Great question Bob,

Don't know what will specifically change in my teaching but the knowledge base continually upgrades and being able to quantify with exact measurements upgrades the process tremendously.
I would say that the scientific research has allowed me to rule out more theories than anything.

The history of golf instruction has always chanted some basic science principles but they are so far off from what is really taking place in a good dynamic golf swing it is silly.

But no doubt, the biggest contribution has been Theodore Jorgensen's Ball Flight Descriptions and Flightscope and Trackman's brining it to light and providing us a way to measure and apply!
