I cannot possibly overstate my recommendation for the Full Day Golf School. The facilities are excellent, the coaching is outstanding and fun. If you have seen Mike's videos or downloads, an in-person lesson is far better. Obviously, if you are here, you have an idea of how well Mike knows his stuff. In addition, he is very personable, makes the lesson fun, and four hours are gone before you know it. The Flightscope X-2 and the SAM lab are incredible icing on the cake. If you have never tried the SAM lab, it is very enlightening, think of an X-2 or Tman for the putter. While I did not appreciate SAM telling me in techie-talk and data that I sucked, it did reinforce that to go from 5 hcap to 1 is going to happen as much on the carpet as it will on the range. In addition, you then have access to this forum for follow-up. ShotLimit (Neil) picked up something from my video last month that really helped.
Ironically, I was almost regretting signing up for the Full Day instead of just an hour or two because my wedge game had been so good, and putter was starting to come around. Mike noticed one small adjustment in my wedge swing that has made a BIG difference in how I can handle the sand wedge from rough and hard pan. The SAM lab was an eye-opener, but even before we got there Mike noticed a fatal flaw in my stroke that was a real problem.
I mention this only because our perception of where we can improve is often wrong. I continue to underestimate the short game, while spending hours whacking balls. Part of the trouble is lack of access to good facilities in the boonies, but they are there, that is mostly an excuse. In any event, if today's round and practice are any indication, I may recoup the cost of the lesson in the next couple of weeks.
The conclusion to all this is if you are ANYWHERE near Long Island, go see Mike. When I say near, I mean a 4.5 hour ride and overnight is WORTH IT!
