Flop Shot

For the last couple of weeks, I practiced a few flop shots as Michael discussed a while back- the one where you take a normal grip, then turn the hands open and line up left.

I've been a little leery of trying it on the course, but yesterday I had no choice. Ball was way below the green with a big bunker close to the pin.

So, I hit the shot. It flew sky high and almost went into the hole. It stopped an inch or two from the hole!

What a cool way to hit the flop!

I do it this way also. Opening the club and then gripping ala Pelz makes the club feel way too different.
