A local driving range has just bought a Flightscope. After Christmas, I hope to have a session with it, and I am not sure how to go about this. What do I need to do in the session to get the best information? Go through my bag with each club? Three swings with each club? Note flight path to correlate with readout? Should I wait until the new owner has some experience with it (I believe that he bought it primarily for club-fitting purposes)? Any advice would be appreciated.

    rprevost,

Great question, I can assist you in getting the most out of the session. Couple of questions first:
What driving range is it? What programs do they offer? Which Flightscope unit did they buy?

Thanks, Michael. I am excited about this. Its the Leatherman Golf Learning Center in Charlotte, NC. According to the website, the model is the X2. I stopped by recently to ask if Leatherman was using the Flightscope for lessons as well as for club fitting. The guy at the front desk said that right now the owner is using it for club fitting only; however, he intends to use it for lessons as he gets more experienced with the machine.

I looked up their website, sounds like a nice range. If they have limited experience with the Flightscope here is what I would suggest:

Sign up for a 30 minute session and hit 15 nine irons - 20 six irons - and 20 drives. I would have them then print out all of the data... club angle data and charts - ball angle data and charts. They can print it or make it into a PDF. Also they can even email you the exact Flightscope file and we can take a look at it and analyze it for you right here. Keep us posted on how you do, also take note on whether or not the Unit is a X2 'complete'

    Good Luck

Thanks for the info! I will be back to you at the beginning of the year, I hope, with the results.
