    MJ,

What should the first move be with the hands at start up assuming mid body hands with a bent left wrist? I am not sure if the focus should be on flattening the left wrist or turning it to the plane as the first move. Thanks.

Great question Jon, depends on what you are trying to do but as a general standard approach the left hand would be flat and turned on the plane at the top of the backswing. Whether or not the the pivot imparts on the turning to the plane of the left hand or an earlier move turns the hand to the plane ..... whether the left wrist flattens on the backswing or remains bent is a matter of the stroke pattern and are all options. I would say a simultaneous move of the left wrist flattening as it is turning toward the plane is a common

    Hi Mike,

Good input. Been trying some dry swings indoor with the 9 iron and I noticed that if I get my thumbs to point somewhat skyward somewhere during halfway on the backswing, it allows me to get a flat left wrist at the top. In addition to that, I feel a great sensation of the right elbow separating from my right rib cage.

Have not hit any balls with that yet so I am not sure if it's a band-aid. From what I can feel, it does allow me greater space to turn left and hit down on the ball with my right side rather than previously. Do you concur?

    Regards.

Sounds like you are keeping the shaft more in between your arms on the backswing ---- good stuff and not a band aid..... let us know how you make out when you take it to the course.
