    MJ and to all ;
    How to you hit iron shots off rain soaked fairways? I played today and hit a bunch of iron shots fat off the wet fairways. Help second round is tomorrow morning 2 day winter event.

    RA,

    Soaking wet golf course makes precision striking a premium. Not only does the golf course play super long, ball turf contact leaves little room for error. Swinging too much inside out, {below plane} makes playing wet conditions very difficult. Check your divot direction and adjust the swing track accordingly. Let us know how you do on Sun

    MJ.
    You know what I thought of that because of our comms on my driver swing thread; Under plane swinging inside out, way to the right... so to get around the course to play golf and post a number I turned my HSP way left and it got better on the back nine hit 7 greens on the front only hit 3 ( couldnt figure it out until the 8 hole par 3). 11 fairways hit, 10 greens, (3) 3 putts only 2 birdies ; tough day putting . Course played tough all day rain never let up and it was 51 degrees in FLA. Course is par 71 I grinded out a respectable 78. I will let you know how tomorrow goes All the info helps and I can see it helping when I calm my mind on the course and see what the ball is doing, then try and correct it. YOU HAVE TO LOVE THIS GAME !!!

    MJ,
    Day two was better as far as ball contact the challenge today was distance control I never thought I would conplain about hitting my irons long but today i was past the pin all day. I hit some of the straightest irons shots that I ever have. I hit 4 pins and had one of the most unlucky shots ever... a 40 yard mid sole pitch shot that hit the bottom of the cup on the fly and bounced straight up in the air and spun no sh---t back 6 ft from the pin.... My playing partners where like Wow " never seen that before" Also MJ I was aiming at the 150 pole in the FW off the all day and never missed it more that 3 yards on either side all day hit 11 of 13 FW the two misses where my normal underplane hooks left (both OB ) lead to 1 bogey and 1 double bogey. I hit my Fway wodds so much better today; that i went for the par 5's today couldnt reach them all; only 2 where reachable and was on the fringe of those two. Hit a bunch of greens made some putts on the greens i hit. and no 3 putts today. shot a 3 over 74 finished 3 overall for the FALL SERIES Championship a series of 7 events based on a point system ( like the FEDEX cup) I played very very steady all series ( 3 First flight #1 finishes ) (2 first flight #2nd places) (1 3rd place finish ) and the worst was a 8th place finish where I didnt break 80. In the First flight you have to be able to break 80 on a regular basis. As I watch the really good guys i notice how long they all are with their irons and how well they all putt. They seem to make a bunch i mean a bunch of birdies. Off the tee they were'nt to much longer but the difference showed up on the long par 3's where i hit woods and 4 irons when those guys where hitting 5 irons and 7 irons. Well my tournament season is over for the year and starts back up in Feb or Mar. I will work on my HSP plane and controling the D-plane and understanding my true swing path more trying to zero out my path to take away my misses. Also sharpen up my short game to smooth out my swing a bit. got quick and short today and stabbed at a few and hit them a bit chunky so just want to be more flowing .

    Thanks
    to all
