I received this question in an email, thought everyone would find it interesting: sounds like a below plane correction could help this golfer be a club champion!

hey Mr. Jacobs,
I'm a 1 handicap and when I recently went to my instructor I had a problem of casting the club a little which caused the clubface to become square too long that I hit my fair amount of pulls. In order to fix my instructor told me to feel the club rest on the my right index finger (trigger finger) on the downswing all the way until right before impact to help with my casting of the club. This kinda seems to work yet is hard for me to feel since I'm also trying to start my downswing with my left hip starting the downswing first. Do you have any other swing thoughts that might help with my casting? Could I feel my lower body shift and then my right elbow drop down or could I feel my left hip clear and then pulling the butt of the grip straight down?
Thanks for your time.
Joe
Answer:
sounds like the club is coming too flat which gives an untrained eye the appearance of casting. I recommend signing up for my website
www.nygolfworld.com - join the community and start off by watching some video tips and shows. i recommend the explosive golf show #1 to start
if you have any further questions I answer them in the golf talk section of that website
thanks
Mike
