Does it seem like that trail foot lifts up bit soon? Not just up soon but straight up and not toward the target then up.

    I think it looks good.

    Mike,

wrt to the driver, it looks like the face orients up a little quick thru the ball.

wrt to the 5I, it seems the clubhead is heading down rather than through the ball, if I had a little more lag and led with the hands more, the clubhead may have better contact... or is that thinking out of date ?

Neil - I agree with your observations, have no idea why that happens - it would look to be a power leak.

    thanks.

    Tom,

The driver will have more loft at impact than it does at address. The shaft bending modes will create extra loft. Question for you is do you hit high on the face with the driver??

With regards to the right foot action, the right leg will usually spin around in conjunction with the pelvis' as it rotates open. If the pelvis rotates open earlier than desired, you will see a right heel and foot leaving the ground early. I would recommend for Tom to have a bit less opening rotation of his pelvis and do a better job coordinating the reduced opening with the rest of the swing. As a result, I think he will see a lot of improved impacts and a more desirable motion of the club through the hitting area.

I will post up some tour averages of pelvis rotation today

Looking forward to that Mike as you know I struggle with proper movement of my pelvis. Although, I am getting better.

Thanks for taking the time to do this Mike!

At the "half way on downswing" I didn't realize there would be such a wide range. Could you give some examples of players that would fit both sides of the spectrum? What's the corralation between the amount closed at the top of the BS and the openess at the half way on the downswing position?

I'm not sure what was involved in getting this info, but I would love to see the shoulder rotation numbers as well. If it's too much hassle I understand.

    Thanks again Mike.

I guess if I was looking to improve my swing, it would be a damn good idea to get in shape and emphasize strength and flexibility of the core.

    Shot,
There are some other areas that go into the pelvis rotation data such as 'pelvis rotation speed' and 'pelvis sway'
So more importantly than shoulder rotation at the moment let's look at 'Pelvis Sway' = the side ways motion of the pelvis

Pelvis Sway - Sideways Movement Tour Averages

The measurement is of Tour Averages of Pelvis Sway in Inches

    Address
    Tour Average Range
    0

    Half Way on Backswing
    Tour Average Range
0 to 1.4 inches away from target

    Top of Backswing
    Tour Average
    1 inch away

    Half Way on Downswing
    Tour Average Range
2.2 inches towards target - 5.3 inches towards target

    Impact
    Tour Average Range
2.5 inches towards target - 5.8 inches towards target

    Half Way on Follow Thru
    Tour Average Range
3 inches towards target - 6.6 inches towards target

    Finish
    Tour Average Range
5.9 inches towards target - 9.5 inches towards target
