i have longish arms and use standard length clubs and prob stand a bit closer to the ball as i don't have a lot of leg/knee bend. just feels comfortable that way. was told some time ago to perhaps stand a bit farther from the ball due to my arms. it never really felt comfortable, but i was just messing around with that posture the other day and my flight seems straighter. i am normally underplane and tendency has been a draw. so if you can just clarify the correctness of distance, i'd appreciate it. thanks
Landshark,
That is such a great question and just the other day I was sorting out pictures for my book. {By the way, so far the book is on schedule!}
We are striking a ball that is laying on the ground so we definitely want to prepare ourselves to be in some sort of a 'body bend' at the impact. Our address and backswing serves to best allow us to prepare for the strike, here are some helpful hints for address:
Adhere to the natural anatomy of the body when you lean into your address

Feel as though you are in a position to begin jogging in place while leaning towards the ball on the ground

Let your arms hang off your body
As for distance form the ball, there are so many little tidbits in pop golf instruction, feeling a little stretch from the ball and properly training the delivery and line up of the club for impact will help you position yourself in desirable address
