Mike this is it I cant take no more. LIke I said before i lost my swing. I`m swaying back (alot) and forward. I get away at times off a tee but on the ground I knock down every shot. I`m trying to take a backswing were I dont sway so I`m just using my shoulders instead of my body.( my body swing sways). my timing is off . Now I cant get to see you till sept. but I need help till then what should I do till then. And no I`m not a quitter. You seen my swing and know what I should do......joe

    Joe,

Go out in the yard and throw some balls in the ground like we do in the videos.... I demonstrated it in the 10 things dvd.... Throw the balls into the ground and have them bounce forward a bit left of center

Transfer that sensation into your swings, and you will get your feel of a good pivot and arm blend back!

I think I`ve found out why I was knocking shots down so much. I thought I lost my swing,,,,but there was nothing wrong with it. As jack nichlas once said back to basics. My left hand grip was sooo weak it was hardly on the club.(my friend a 2 handicap) noticed and also said I wasnt breaking my wrist enough. So with his guidence I slowly started to hit quality shots taking divots which I never did. The importance of grip is sooo overlooked of its importance. Ive been working on this all week and shown soooo much improvement. I have a quicker wrist break by bending my right wrist back flattening the left wrist and bring the club more up than around and consitrating not re-gripping my left hand. My left hand feels so much stronger now in that I`m squaring my clubface. I hit a shot yesterday with a slight draw 250 (I`m 74) and playing only 18yrs I`m happy with that. Hopefully it will continue...thanks mike for this site and all you do for hackers like me.Its easy to help pro`s and low handicappers but its people like me and other high cappers that you care for and thats why you have a great site.....joe

    Great job Joe,

Make sure that grip is down into where the fingers and palm meet and clearly under the heel of the left hand... a poor grip make a golfer lose control of the face and head and makes an erratic impact inevitable. Keep us posted on your progress

UPDATE: I thought the grip and wrist was my problem but just part of it.
I still had trouble with hitting it on the ground. Mike I tried the ball trowing drill and it was close to what my REAL problem was but not the main problem. What I`m about to tell you next I think most hackers like me have. I beleive we try all this axsis tilt and pivot motion we do it wrong. We concentrate soooo much trying to do these things that we get paralysis of the analysis or what ever the saying is.

we try to hit the ball with our pivot and try to bend this way and hit that way ,when all we have to do is swing the frigging club head and our body will pivot etc. Of course this is just my opinion.
This is what I found what I was doing wrong besides trying to hit with my pivot and looking stupid for 3 yrs. I just take my club head (in my mind) straight back (slowly) and when I reach the top I accelerate so much down to the ball (hands leading)...like tossing a golf ball down to the golf ball using the cliub head. Guess what, I take a divot the ball goes uppp and I pivot(with out thinking about it) and my head stays behind the ball and my axsis tilt is were it suppose to be. Ok what I did before was slide because I was trying to hit it with my pivot when I should be catching my clubhead with my pivot. what our teachers tell us is sooo right its up to us to figure how ,we can do it. I found out for me that the secret is swinging the club head 2 feet in front of the ball accellerating to 2 feet tru, which mike told me the first lesson I took but I didnt know how to do it till now.I feel re -born. I let you know how I do this wee in my next update....joe
