    Mike,
    With some of the science and data that Brian is working with, what is your feeling regarding blades vs. perimeter weighted /cavity back irons?

    I read some pages from The Physics of Golf and that guy was stating he couldn't understand the craze of moving poorer players to cavity backs.

    Also, I was reading an article from a former Hogan employee and he was saying that in the iron byron....a perfect hit on the sweet spot rarely produced a similar shot. He said the same was not true with blades or non-perimeter weighted clubs.

    Interesting! It would seem to me that offsets and perimeter weighted clubs actually can handicap a player's progress from high/mid handicap to getting lower faster.

    Bill,

    How Golf Clubs Really Work and How to Optimize Their Designs

    In my own game {which barely exists anymore as I have played golf about 15 times in the past 3 years}
    I use cavity in the 3 4 5 iron

    and a workable muscle back in the remaining irons

    I use the Tom Wishon 560 MC 3,4,5, Irons
    and the 555 m short irons.

    I have a 6 iron mc also in case I what the cavity to advance down a little further in the set.

    What I like about Tom Wishon Golf is that all of these models were designed to accommodate each other with face designs and you move from cavity to muscle back

    You should get that book and join in reading it and we can have some nice discussions
