I start my backswing with a combination of upper body rotation and a weight transfer. Lately I have been thinking about my ribcage or thorax turning in the backswing rather than the shoulders. I try to keep my arms free of tension so they can move with the body rotation and I let my wrists respond to the weight of the clubhead.

Love your action Rick. Is there any way you can upload some more swings for us to see. I have been trying to use some of these same thoughts for my swing, mainly tempo and core motions and less torque from the top to let the club do the work and really try to feel the club shaft flex and monitor the sweet spot so I may be able to
feel the right time to add some power rather than trying to choreograph and time it. I think I may really be on to something with this, I have never been so aware of what the club was doing before.
